How much is carpet cleaning in Melbourne?

Is carpet steam cleaning better than dry carpet cleaning?

They suit different jobs. Steam cleaning, properly called hot water extraction, flushes the pile with heated solution and pulls it straight back out, so it is the deepest clean for heavily soiled carpet. Low moisture dry cleaning uses very little water, so it is the better choice when you need the room back within an hour or two. We tell you which we recommend for your carpet and why before we start.

How long before I can walk on the carpet?

After low moisture dry cleaning, usually 1 to 2 hours. After hot water extraction, allow 4 to 6 hours depending on airflow and the weather. Opening windows and running a fan or the air conditioning helps.

Should I hire a carpet cleaner machine instead?

You can, and for a quick freshen up it can be fine. The difference is extraction power and heat. A domestic hire machine has far less suction than a truck grade unit, so more water stays in the carpet, drying takes longer and soil can wick back up. By the time you add the hire fee, the solution and your weekend, our three room package at $99 is often not far off, and the result is not comparable.

Do you do same day carpet cleaning?

Can you remove pet urine and the smell?

Usually, yes. Urine goes through the carpet into the underlay, so cleaning the surface alone brings the smell back on the next humid day. We treat the affected spots below the surface, from $39 a spot. If the underlay is saturated right through, we will tell you honestly that replacing that section is the real fix.

Do you clean carpets for end of lease?

Yes, it is one of our most common jobs. Consumer Affairs Victoria expects carpets to be left reasonably clean, free of pet hair, stains and strong smells. We clean to that standard and give you an itemised invoice for your agent. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?

Just clear small items, breakables and anything on the floor. We move ordinary furniture like couches, coffee tables and dining chairs. Beds with drawers, full bookcases, pianos and anything with screens stay where they are and we clean around them.
