A couch holds far more than you can see. Body oil from arms and heads, food and drink, pet hair and the fine dust that settles into the weave every day. A surface wipe or a spray bottle moves it around. Steam cleaning, done properly with hot water extraction, flushes it out of the fabric and pulls it away.

We check the fabric code first, pre treat the heavy areas like arms, headrests and seat fronts, then extract slowly and evenly across every panel. Cleaning a whole panel rather than a patch is what stops the water rings that DIY cleaners leave behind.

Fabric couches

Woven and textured fabrics cleaned with hot water extraction and a fibre safe rinse, so no sticky residue is left to attract dirt again.

Microfibre and suede

Microfibre marks easily and suede hates being over wet. We use a low moisture method and brush the nap back up so it dries soft and even.

Delicate and velvet

Velvet, viscose and some linen blends shrink or water mark. We clean them dry or with minimal moisture, exactly as the care label allows.

Leather is not fabric and should never be shampooed. It needs a pH balanced leather cleaner to lift the body oil and grime from the surface, then a conditioner to put back what the cleaning takes out, so it stays soft and does not crack.

We identify the leather first. Pigmented leather, the most common type on lounges, is the toughest. Semi aniline and aniline leathers are more delicate and mark easily, so they are handled gently with less product. Leather is from $65 a seat, or from $239 for a whole suite, cleaned and conditioned.

How much does couch cleaning cost in Melbourne?

How long does a couch take to dry?

Most fabric couches are dry enough to sit on in a few hours and fully dry the same day. Open a window or run a fan and it speeds up. Leather is usable straight away.

Can you remove pet urine from a couch?

Usually, yes. Urine soaks through the fabric into the foam, so we treat it below the surface rather than cleaning the top of the cushion. If the foam is saturated right through, we tell you before you pay.

Do you clean leather couches?

Yes. Leather is cleaned with a pH balanced cleaner, never a fabric shampoo, and then conditioned so it stays supple. We check whether it is pigmented, semi aniline or aniline leather first, because each needs a different touch.

Is steam cleaning safe for my couch?

For most fabric couches, yes. We check the care code on the label first. Some fabrics such as certain velvets and viscose blends need a low moisture method instead, and we choose that when the label says so.

Will the stains come out?

Most do. Food, drink, body oil and general grime usually come out well. Old dye transfer, bleach marks and heat damage are permanent changes to the fibre, and we tell you honestly before we start.
